You can now find thinkhdaps in trunk of awn-extras

This applet requires hdaps, but if it's not running or you don't have it, the applet should just display a nice "error" icon.

Well, I can confirm that the error icon shows up, the title works, and both right click entries work! Sorry I can't give you more useful information. Looks neat though.
