For a while I've been working on Affinity in a separate project on Launchpad. Now, when building, it checks for Awn and installs an applet if it's installed. This applet hides/shows Affinity when clicked and includes all the features of normal Affinity.

To get it, make sure you have all the dependencies and libawn development files installed. Then get the Affinity source code and install it:
bzr co lp:affinity
cd affinity
./autogen.sh
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig
