Trouble installing Awn-manager

I've been struggling with the installation of AWN for hours now, trying two different versions and getting nowhere. Finally it is running thanks to this forum. However... I am still unable to install the awn-manager. Initially trying a terminal command "sudo apt-get install awn-manager" it couldn't find the package. I found the package on packages.ubuntu.com, but I'm getting a conflict that is not allowing the installation. It is trying to overwrite "usr/share/avant-window-navigator/awn-manager/window.glade". How might I go about fixing this?

We need to know exactly where you got these packages, and which ones you have installed. There are a few places to get Awn for Ubuntu, and you can't mix the two. There's reacocard's repository for Gutsy (see http://wiki.awn-project.org/index.php?title=DistributionGuides#Ubuntu for details), and then there's the "official" packages in universe/gnome, which are for Hardy (the upcoming version of Ubuntu, 8.04).

I think I probably mixed a few here. Initially I tried the wiki instructions or reacocard for gutsy. When that didn't yield any awn-manager, I went looking for that elsewhere and ended up removing that in favor of a different one, I think from getdeb. I've been to tons of pages that haven't helped and a few that did. Since this, I've removed everything I could think of that I had done and reinstalled from that reacocard repo. I have two versions of avn and its dependencies listed in synaptic, a plain avant-window-navigator and a brz version. Currently I have the brz installed and it works fine, but no manager. Since I had no luck with synaptic or the the terminal, I found an avn-manager package and downloaded it but it won't install with either version of awn. The latest error I receive is this:

In reacocard's repository, everything has the suffix -bzr (because it's all from the development branch). Uninstall all of the Awn packages that don't have the -bzr suffix. I'm pretty sure that awn-manager comes with avant-window-navigator-bzr.
