Has development on AWN flatlined? I haven't seen any talk of new releases or changes for quite some time. For instance, ( [Announcement] READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING; 0.2.6 released; 0.2.8 SOON ). Soon apparently referring to at least 6 months..

A fair amount of work is going on in non-trunk branches in preparation for 0.4+

Thanks for the news! Unfortunately autogen misses some packages, namely
[Q]

No package 'gnome-desktop-2.0' found
No package 'libgnome-2.0' found
No package 'gnome-vfs-module-2.0' found
[Q]

which aren't in the package management (at least in Intrepid's one). I figured out that "gnome-vfs-module-2.0" is covered by "libgnome-vfsmm-2.6-dev", "libgnome-2.0" by "libgnome2-dev" and "gnome-desktop-2.0" by "libgnome-desktop-dev". Was somewhat hard to find it out. D

By the way, if you couldn't find awn, it's at the right side of the screen :)

Please disable Vala for now - I do not plan on updating the bindings until the API has stabilized.

Nope. It's not really ready for general consumption yet. It's more like pre-alpha.

Can you install the rewrite from here (https://code.launchpad.net/~awn-core/awn/trunk-rewrite-and-random-breakage) without overwriting the current trunk install?

Only if you install it to a custom prefix (See <http://wiki.awn-project.org/InstallingFromSource>;). The config settings will still be shared.

Hmm, and what is started then if you run "avant-window-navigator"? Will the export of PATH work at all? Sry for the dumb questions. :)

Then flip the export statement so it looks like this:
[Q]

export PATH="/home/bob/programs/awn/bin:$PATH"

I'm not putting it in the guide because I don't want to encourage people to install more than one version of Awn on their computer.

Thanks. :) I just installed it to a folder in the /home dir and starting it directly from there to avoid problems. Well since a very early development state I'll better not complain about bugs and just wait for improvements. :)
