I decided to install Karmic now before the rush on Thursday. All I can see for AWN for Karmic is the beta version, which I don't mind as it has some big improvements over the previous versions, but I have some issues.

First, how do you add launchers? I dried to add a launcher for Firefox but it didn't work. Where do you save the Launcher?

Second, AWN only seems to like icons that the system uses, you cannot install from any other location.

Thirdly, there are no stacker applets?

Please use https://bugs.launchpad.net/awn and indicate in the description which version you're using.

It wasn't ported yet, and since it doesn't have a maintainer I'm not sure about its fate.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, you can change almost any icon by dropping it onto the applet.

For what it's worth, I am also experiencing this exact same issue... I'm unable to get my old launchers back because avant doesn't seem to see the icons in my custom icon folder, and I can't save a launcher without an icon for it (using an icon from theme would be confusing, since nothing in stock icons properly represents my apps). Are other people also experiencing this? I'm not downgrading to stable because I absolutely love this new beta, but I do hope I'll be able to get my old launchers back soon. If anyone needs more info from me to fix this problem, I'd be glad to help. I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty 32 bit (for one more week, at least!).
